The South Korea Ministry of Gender Equality and Family said it received complaints from the public rapping the 2PM concert last July 31 and August 1 as containing sexual acts that are unfit for kids.
The concert was rated for eight years old and above but it turned out that the performances by 2PM members were deemed inappropriate by the Korean public.
The ministry was quoted as saying that it acknowledged that the concert had “sexually suggestive content” and it is now investigating the issue by reviewing the videos and photos.
The concert has been put on the chopping block for excessive groping and kissing, exposure of the upper half, and showing the members changing clothes through silhouettes.
Some netizens said 2PM’s concert is more sexually suggestive than the concert of G-Dragon , leader of boy band Big Bang .
After G-Dragon held his concert last year, criticisms mounted for alleged lewd and violent acts. The concert was rated for 12 years old and above. He was investigated by prosecutors but was eventually cleared from the charges.
Because of the growing criticisms for the 2PM concert, a petition has been posted on Korean site Daum Agora to force JYP Entertainment to apologize to the public for the concert. As of August 4, some 2,800 Koreans have signed the online petition.
