In the future, Celebi sees Raikou, Entei, and Suicune fighting. In an attempt to prevent it, Celebi travels through time to the past.
Satoshi (Ash), Takeshi (Brock), and Hikari (Dawn) arrive in Crown City to attend the annual Pokémon Baccer World Cup before going their respective ways. They encounter the Pokémon Zorua who is looking for its companion. They allow Zorua to travel with them until the town begins to be attacked by the legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, revealed to be illusions created by Zorua’s companion Zoroark, who is able to transform into Satoshi. Soon after, the legendary Celebi appears from 20 years in the future due to an impending disaster that befalls Crown City.
